Crediting will be resumed in 2013

Considering that Romania's economy maintains its rate of growth the President of the Romanian Association of Banks and CEC Bank, Radu Ghetea said that crediting will be resumed in the second part of 2013.

In this sense it was noted that there are resources for crediting and expertise, and that the foreign banks are very interested in this market.

The gross domestic product grew in the first months of 2013 in real terms by 0,5% compared to the fourth quarter of 2012. In this context the consumption should be encouraged because it contributes to economic growth.

The economy has started growing and Romania manages to sustain on the plus. Based on these increases after the first banks will take the first step to grant credits the other banks will also follow them.

Banks are just waiting to give credits so crediting is expected by everyone.

The resumption of crediting will be made both in the segment of companies but also for the individuals, in the first place will be the companies and SME’s and then will follow the individuals.

Crediting will be resumed for sure when the economic growth will be maintained in Romania and in the European Union.

Also the Romanian National Bank Governor Mugur Isarescu required the banks to resume crediting and to give cheaper loans. At the same time the Romanian National Bank maintained the interest of monetary policy at 5,25%. Also, for the inflation the forecast has been revised down to 3,2%, after being estimated at 3,5%.
